Yet more illegal Israeli settlements of stolen Palestinian land

Depressing news today that Israel is to build 1,200 illegal new settlement houses on stolen Palestinian land in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. So much for a peace treaty!

The stoicism of the Palestinians amazes me. I wouldn’t be surprised if a third Intifada erupts, though I will always argue against any form of violence.

I also attended a Red Cross/Red Crescent forum on nuclear weapons today, and though I learned a lot, and like the RC/RC stand, the fact that international law allows the use of nuclear weapons in certain circumstances of self defense worries me in that it is a clause that the Israelis will use, if not at the drop of a hat, certainly readily. Oh dear!

Greens for Palestine meeting

I attended the ‘Greens for Palestine’ meeting in Sydney yesterday, which was encouraging and productive, especially in terms of how we can advocate and educate. I wish the so-called Peace Process felt the same, but sadly it feels very stacked against Palestine in favour of Israel, as usual.
